HOW DO WE CATCH A COLD
The common cold is the disease that we catch the most often. It is actually an infection of the thin layers of tissue in your nose and throat. Sometimes the disease can spread to your airways and lungs. The common cold is caused by germs called viruses that travel through the air inside tiny drops of moisture. Doctors think that if you breathe in these drops of moisture that come out of someone who has a cold, you will catch the cold yourself.
The strange thing is that these viruses are in your throat most of the time, but they don't always attack your body. Your body is usually able to find and destroy them before they infect you. But when your body temperature gets too low or too high, or you are very tired, your body is not able to protect you from the viruses and you start to develop a cold.
